Download.com - FreeWire's 403Kb download file is an "active
installer", meaning that you must remain connected to the Internet
while you run it. It will download and install the necessary components
based on your system setup. Download sizes vary from 1.8MB to 10MB,
depending on required files. For instructions installing, visit

- Windows 95/98/Me/NT(SP6)/2000/XP (other platforms coming
soon)
- Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE), download it here.
*FreeWire is written in Java, which
requires a "Java Runtime Environment" (JRE) to run on
Windows. The JRE is included with the standard distribution of FreeWire.
Download either JRE from the link above to run our software correctly.
Version 1.4 is the latest, but is a larger download. Version 1.31
is known and tested for optimum compatibility.
